Squadron Awards Night

The squadron held an awards evening on the 18th of December at the Royal British Legion in Whitecrook to celebrate the successes of its cadets in 2018. A huge turnout of cadets, staff and family came to support the squadron for the evening.


To begin the evening, the squadron’s Padre officially enrolled cadets Bonnar, Fraser, Gibson and Macdairmid to the squadron along with them receiving their 3822 Cadet Logbook. This enrolment marked a major step in the squadron's history as it was the first official enrolment with a padre leading the event.


To commemorate the successes of 2018 many awards were handed to cadets with outstanding achievements. The recipients of the awards consists of:

Major Logan who received his certificate of appointment


Cadet Warrant Officer Cameron who received his certificate of appointment


Cadet Gibson who achieved “Best Recruit”


Cadet McGowan who achieved “Best Cadet”


Corporal Orme who achieved “Best Attendance”


Corporal McNulty who achieved “Best Sporting achievement”


Corporal Goggins who achieved “Best Academic achievement”


Cadet Hogg who achieved “Most Improved cadet”


Flight Sergeant Melvin who achieved “Commanding Officer’s Commendation”


Sergeant ferguson who achieved “Best NCO”


Overall, the cadets enjoyed the evening and ended the night with a disco and buffet.
